St Thomas More Early Years Foundation Stage
Our Approach to Learning in Early Years
A St. Thomas More learner in EYFS will be happy, confident and enthusiastic about their learning. At the heart of this, is them feeling safe, valued and included. We will deliver a skills-based curriculum to develop their knowledge. We aim to develop the characteristics of effective learning so that our children move across each subsequent Key Stage as enthusiastic, lifelong learners.
Here at St Thomas More, our Early Years Foundation Stage consists of Nursery and Reception.
Our Nursery provides morning sessions, everyday from 8:45- 11:45, with wrap around care available from Quinton Playgroup in the afternoon. We welcome children age three to four.
Reception is full time for children who are of school age (four to five).

Early Years Team:
We are a friendly, caring and passionate early years team. Our aim is to nurture our children to give them the best start in their journey through school, as we know how crucial the early years of a child's life are. We encourage the children to follow their interests, be unique and, most importantly, have fun!

Our Setting:
The Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum (EYFS) is a play based curriculum. In our setting we enjoy learning through play and love to join in play with the children to support their learning in a fun and engaging way. Learning and development is scaffolded through continuous provision that is based around our curriculum and children's interests.
